France More Strict Than USA

It is a sad world when France is more strict on it's Roma Gypsie problem than the USA is on it's southern border problem.  We now live in upside down world.  OR, the French are waking up to the impending demographic doom.  Yeah, upside down world.

I don't blame France for expelling these people.  Thieves.  Vandals.  Send 'em home.  That's not harming them.


BRUSSELS: All eyes are on the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, as Europe kicks off an explosive summit overshadowed by a slanging match over France's expulsion of Roma Gypsies.

While leaders are also wrestling with cross-border sanctions for budget spendthrifts, favours for flood-devastated Pakistan and a sickly-sweet trade deal with South Korea, Mr Sarkozy's first utterance is the one they are all waiting for.

The row turned personal on Wednesday after a top European Union official compared France's hard line on travellers to the tactics of its World War II pro-Nazi regime. (Typical prog, everything you disagree with is "nazi" - Kirls)

Mr Sarkozy responded by suggesting the European Commissioner offer to host expelled Gypsies in her country of Luxembourg. (Now that's a response!  Can you imagine 0bama saying anything so gutsy?  yeah, neither can i - Kirls)

France has attacked Viviane Reding, a Luxembourger and the EU's Justice Commissioner, after she threatened legal action over Mr Sarkozy's policy of expelling the Roma.

She said it was a ''disgrace'' that reminded her of World War II round-ups of Gypsies and Jews.

''A cash handout, a plane ticket to the EU country of origin are not the same as the death camps, the gas chambers,'' France's European Affairs Minister, Pierre Lellouche, snapped back.

''As he will explain tomorrow, it's scandalous,'' a French senator, Bruno Sido, added after lunching with Mr Sarkozy, the son of an Hungarian immigrant.

France is ''irreproachable'', Mr Sarkozy was quoted as telling party allies, adding ''if the Luxembourgers wanted to take them, he had no problem''.

Paris faces legal action over its controversial drive to deport ethnic Roma, living in travelling communities, back to Romania and Bulgaria.

But a diplomat warned that the European Commission, whose justice supremo Ms Reding unleashed the storm, ''doesn't always win at the European Court of Justice''.

He said: ''Our argument is sound.''

The Luxembourg Foreign Minister, Jean Asselborn, attacked the reported Sarkozy jibe as ''malicious''.

Finally, Ms Reding, in a bid to smooth out tensions, contacted Agence France-Presse to express ''regret''.

She insisted: ''I in no way wanted to draw a parallel between World War II and the actions of the French government today.''

An EU founder member, France is fiercely proud of its historic legacy as the home of human rights.

The Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, for his part, was happy to argue that ''the problem of the Roma concerns every country in Europe''.

Italy had its brush with the commission in 2008 when it started to register Roma living in camps, taking fingerprints and documenting their ethnicity and religion.

The heightened atmosphere could easily infect other existing divisions.

The EU chief, Herman Van Rompuy, stands charged by Berlin with producing only ''nebulous'' ideas for clipping countries whose spending blitzes threaten a shared euro economy.

''Germany backs severe sanctions,'' the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, said at tactical talks with centre-right allies in Brussels.

As seen by Slovakia wriggling out of a commitment to loan Greece money - an uncomfortable truth euro chiefs prefer to ignore - momentum has faded since May when EU bosses trumpeted a ''trillion-dollar'' rescue war-chest.

''Intensive work'' was required if decisions slated for next month were to live up to Mr Van Rompuy's launch fanfare, one diplomat said.

The International Monetary Fund chief, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who must throw in one euro for every two the EU throws at its difficult economies, also wants ''courageous measures''.

Otherwise, Europe will ''no longer be able to compete with the world's most dynamic countries'', he said.

Human rights groups ask Obama to end police immigrant checks

From The Arizona Daily Star says all the usual commies are asking the 0bama admin to stop all immigrant checks except, of course, by federal law enforcement officials.  Nice trick that.  Considering how few federal law enforcement officials there aretually are.  This is just another attempt to pre-empty SB 1070 and other laws like it.  Another open-borders movement. 
LOS ANGELES - Hundreds of human rights groups are asking the Obama administration to end programs that allow local police to check the immigration status of arrestees.
A letter to the president Wednesday says it encourages racial profiling and calls it a dangerous merger of the federal immigration enforcement system with state criminal justice systems.
The letter is signed by the AFL-CIO and a broad range of criminal justice, peace, religious, ethnic and immigrant rights groups around the country, including the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement is expanding a program that permits local police officers to run arrestees' names through a Department of Homeland Security database.
An e-mail to Homeland Security seeking comment wasn't immediately returned.

Nogales AZ will turn out to be our Bell CA

Yesterday, the mayor of Nogales Octavio Garcia Von Borstel, who has never held an actual job and whose annual salary as mayor is $50, was arrested on charges of fraud, bribery, and money laundering along with his father.  I thought, dude, way to go 0-60 in a nanosecond in the crime superhighway.  So, I found that this mayor has always been an arrogant criminal.  He wouldn't even take responsibility for a traffic ticket. Rather than just paying the fine and / or going to traffic school after saying he'd take responsibility for it, he hired an attorney (on $50 / year??) to fight it, and then enver showed up.  (here, and here). 

Just scratching the surface we find that this mayor has been under investigation or suspicion forever!

His spending of tax payers money was questioned on more than one occasion (here).  The City Council took away his City Credit Card and took away the city-owned Chevy Tahoe!  From charges for adult movies in hotels to massive fraud and bribery.  This mayor was making his jump to the big time.

What I find odd is that he was ever elected in the first place.  He doesn't appear to have any visible means of support beyond his $50 / year salary as mayor.  How could the people of Nogales elect such a person?  He has no experience at ever meeting a payroll or balancing a budget... oh, wait.  Just like our current President.

I've often wondered who people who don't seem to work or have jobs always have plenty of money, late model expensive vehicles, and all the best of everything.  Now we know.  They've been stealing form those of us who do work.

Nogales AZ Mayor Indicted for Fraud, Theft, Money Laundering

I predict that there is much more to this story.  Mayor Octavio Garcia-Von Borstel has been under investigation for a variety of things since he was appointed in 2007.  According to what's on the internet, it's all related to money.  I expect illegal smuggling will turn up as well.  He has close family ties to Nogales, Mexico and has never held a real job but lived like he was wealthy.  Yes indeed, there is much more to this story than we now know.

Octavio Garcia - Von Borstel was born in Nogales, AZ in 1980. He is the son of Octavio Garcia - Suarez and Maricela Von Borstel de Garcia. He is the Grandson of ex - Mayor of Nogales, Sonora - Mexico, Octavio Garcia - Garcia and Maclovia Suarez de Garcia. Also, of Fransisco Von Borstel and Arabella Mendez de Von Borstel.

Octavio attended the Nogales Unified School District and has always been very active in his community. He was a well rounded athlete and student earning the Athlete/Student Scholar Award and the Senior Athlete Award at Nogales High School. He participated in Track, Tennis, Soccer and Football (History Season 97). He devoted a lot of his time in the summer as a Tennis instructor at the Rio Rico Racquet Club. During his years at the University of Arizona he was elected Philanthropy Chair of Sigma Chi Fraternity in 1999 and dedicated himself in helping the Ronald McDonald House Foundation and Building and Re-Modeling homes for people in need in Nogales, Sonora - Mexico. In 2000 he was elected Social Chair and together with his Fraternity began a movement group to do volunteer work and drive students that were under the influence of alcohol home to relieve drunk driving. In 2002, Octavio moved to Vancouver, British Columbia - Canada to volunteer as a Soccer Assistant in a Youth Soccer Club and spent much of his extra time providing positive leadership skills to Middle School Students. He admits Canada was a great opportunity and provided him great confidence in helping others. After a successful journey in Canada, Octavio settled back in his native land of Nogales, AZ and pursued a career in the family business. At the same time he started committing himself in different leadership roles in various organizations and groups that together serve the people of his community. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Adult Education and is the Chairman Elect of the Nogales/Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce.

The mayor of Nogales, Ariz. shuffled shackled into a Santa Cruz County court this afternoon wearing a striped jail suit and was accused of having access to unexplained millions of dollars.

Earlier in the day Octavio Garcia-Von Borstel had been arrested in connection with a criminal indictment on multiple charges including bribery, theft, fraud and money laundering. Garcia-Von Borstel, 29, was arrested at his office at the Nogales City Hall Tuesday morning while search warrants were being conducted at his home, business and City Hall office, according to a news release from the state Attorney General's Office.

The mayor's father, Octavio Suarez Garcia, 59, of Nogales, was also indicted and arrested Tuesday. He faces several charges that include fraud, theft and money laundering.

Justice of the Peace Mary Helen Maley set bail for Garcia-Von Borstel and his father at $250,000 each. She also granted prosecutors' request to examine the source of the money if the defendants post a cash bond. The reason for the request was related to money that investigators say they saw passing through defendants' bank accounts, said Assistant Attorney General Kim Ortiz.

"There was over $10 million that ran through these accounts in the last 24 months," she said.

"These charges are serious violations of the law. Because some charges involve the official actions of an elected official, they violate the public trust," Terry Goddard said in a news release today. "Both the mayor and his father will be held accountable and prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

The father and son pleaded not guilty to the charges they face in two separate indictments. Attorney Christopher Scileppi said the two "will be defending against these charges aggressively."

The FBI began investigating Garcia-Von Borstel five months ago and determined that he was soliciting Nogales businesses to hire him as a consultant as early as February 2009, Goddard's office says. At least one business admitted to the FBI that it was paying the mayor to use his official position to obtain business contracts and, specifically, to obtain new City of Nogales contracts, circumventing either open bidding or proper application processes.

The state prosecutor also claims Garcia-Von Borstel also received money from at least one business in exchange for utilizing his official position to protect a contract the business owner had with the city and to assist the business owner in obtaining an additional city contract.

The mayor's father was an agent for Western Union and the state claims he fraudulently reported that money orders worth $3.2 million were sold though there were no cash deposits to back them up, according to the news release.

The money orders were then cashed by Garcia-Von Borstel and deposited into a bank account. Of the $3.2 million, the father and son withdrew $565,000 for their personal use before the account was frozen, Goddard's office says.

Money troubles have dogged Garcia-Von Borstel's time as mayor, since he was appointed by the City Council in 2007, upon the death of Mayor Ignacio Barraza.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the mayor charged trips to Las Vegas and Mexico City to his city credit card. The council then took back his credit card and the new city-owned Chevrolet Tahoe he received after taking office.

But even after losing those city benefits, the mayor continued to spend heavily, said council member Esther Melendez-Lopez. That was strange for a person who had no outside job and only made $50 per month as mayor, she said.

"If he's spending like crazy, and he doesn't have a job, you wonder where's he's getting the money," she said.

More Islam-style Murder in Mexico

At first glance you think this article is just about two murders committed in the islamics favorite method of killing women who shoe an ankle or a wrist or a stray strand of hair.  But look at that!  It's packed with death!  I was going to highlight the parts I thought were important but I would end up highlighting the entire thing!

Small-town mayor stoned to death in western Mexico
MEXICO CITY, Sept 27 (Reuters) - The mayor of a small town in western Mexico was found on Monday stoned to death in the third attack on a public official in the country in less than a week, local authorities said.

The bodies of Gustavo Sanchez, mayor of Tancitaro in Michoacan state, and an aide were found, officials said.

"It appears they stoned them to death," a source from the local prosecutor's office said on condition of anonymity.

Local media reported that the bodies were found in the back of a flat-bed truck.

There was no immediate indication whether the killings were related to drug violence. More than 29,000 people have been killed in violence between rival drug cartels and between cartels and state security forces since President Felipe Calderon launched his offensive on cartels in 2006.

On Friday, a mayor-elect in northern Chihuahua state was shot in the head and chest by suspected drug hitmen, leaving him in critical condition.

A day earlier, armed men killed the mayor of a town outside Mexico's northern business city of Monterrey.

Mexico Asks U.S. To Stop Deporting Serious Criminals

Unbelievable.  Mexico wants us (the USA!) to keep their citizens once we let them out of prison for rape and murder because they are too violent.  Well, I have an idea.  Hey Mexico, why don't you stop sending them to the USA in the first place??!!  This request is outrageous!  I got your other arrangements right here in the form of a death sentence for the crimes of rape and murder.  As it should be!


In a flabbergasting request, a coalition of Mexican lawmakers has asked the United States to stop deporting illegal immigrants who have been convicted of serious crimes in American courts.

The preposterous demand was made at a recent southern California conference in which the mayors of four Mexican cities that border the U.S. gathered to discuss cross-border issues. The only American mayor who attended the biannual event was San Diego’s Jerry Sanders, evidently because his city hosted it this year at a fancy downtown hotel.

Among the cross-border topics that were addressed at the conference was the deportation of Mexican citizens who have committed violent crimes in the U.S. The felons are persona non grata in their communities, say the mayors of Tijuana, Ciudad Juarez, Nogales and Nuevo Laredo. They want U.S. officials to stem the deportation of such convicts to their cities, according to a local newspaper report that covered the conference.

To support the request, the mayor (Jose Reyes Ferriz) of Mexico’s most violent city, Ciudad Juarez, pointed out that of 80,000 people deported to his community in the past three years nearly 30,000 had committed serious crimes in the U.S. Around 7,000 had served sentences for rape and 2,000 for murder. The criminal deportees have contributed to the escalating drug-cartel violence in his city, Mayor Ferriz said, so he wants the U.S. to make other arrangements when prison sentences are completed.

If this seems unbelievable, consider that a few years ago Mexico’s government formally complained that too many Mexicans had been repatriated from the U.S. and that the entire country was overwhelmed with demands for housing, jobs and schools. Various Mexican legislators publicly chastised the U.S. for sending illegal immigrants back, explaining that the country could not accommodate the “repatriated.”

The Obama Administration seems to be heeding to Mexico’s request by openly halting the deportation of hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants. Additionally, the administration has a “backdoor amnesty” plan to legalize millions of undocumented aliens in case Congress doesn’t pass legislation to do it.

Over A Quarter Million People Leave Jaurez Mexico

In the last three years, 230,000 people have left Jaurez.  Over half of them went to El Paso.  One has to wonder if they immigrated legally or not.  Between Dec '06 and July '10, there were 8300 dead as a result of the Drug mafia.  That is almost 200 people a month.  Maybe they are trying to give the islamics a challenge to be the most murderous evil freaks on the planet.


CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico – Some 230,000 people have left Ciudad Juarez, a border city that has become Mexico’s murder capital, in the past three years as the death toll from a gang war topped 7,000, a non-governmental organization said in a new report.

About 124,000 people, or 53.9 percent of the total, have sought safe haven in El Paso, Texas, which is just across the border, the Ciudad Juarez Citizens Security and Coexistence Observatory said.

The rest have returned to their hometowns, mainly in Durango, Coahuila and Veracruz states, to get away from the drug-related violence.

“Action should be taken immediately” to keep the crime and violence from leading to a “loss of economic dynamism and, in turn, a continuing reproduction of violence and crime as a result of unemployment,” the report’s authors, Ramon Chavira and Wilebaldo Martinez, said.

The two Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez, or UACJ, professors used National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Informatics, or INEGI, figures, as well as interviews with emigrants’ families, to come up with the population trend figures for the border city.

Ciudad Juarez is the scene of a war for control of smuggling routes between the Juarez and Sinaloa drug cartels.

The border city, where more than 2,000 people have been murdered this year, has been plagued by drug-related violence for years.

More than 20,000 houses have been abandoned in the border city by people who feared they might become murder, extortion or kidnapping victims, Ciudad Juarez Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz said.

Journalists have also been leaving the border city in recent years due to threats.

Jorge Luis Aguirre, publisher of the online daily La Polaka, was granted political asylum on Monday, U.S. officials said.

Aguirre fled to the United States with his family on Nov. 13, 2008, just hours after El Diario de Juarez reporter Armando Rodriguez was murdered.

Rodriguez was murdered in front of his 9-year-old daughter outside his house.

Luis Carlos Santiago, a 21-year-old El Diario news photographer, was killed last week and his colleague, Carlos Sanchez, was wounded in an attack by suspected cartel hit men.

Paris-based Reporters Without Borders said in a statement Friday that it was “appalled” by the killing, adding that the “level of violence and mayhem is staggering in many parts of Mexico including Cuidad Juarez.”

El Paso’s Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center, meanwhile, warned of a likely new wave of media members seeking asylum in the United States in the wake of the attack on the photographers.

“I think they want to silence the voices of the reporters, who are the ones on the front lines. As an organization, we are going to support these types of situations,” Eduardo Beckett, an immigration attorney at the center, said.

“We are receiving a huge number of calls. We’re really busy, but we are going to do everything possible to help deal with this. It’s an international crisis,” Beckett said.

The flow of people from Juarez to El Paso started in 2007, press reports said.

The death toll from the drug war in Ciudad Juarez reached 8,300 between December 2006 and July 2010.

Widow of Murdered AZ Rancher Victim of Hit and Run

DOUGLAS, AZ (KOLD)- Sue Krentz, wife of slain rancher, Robert Krentz, was hit by a vehicle driven by a suspected drunk driver in Douglas Saturday night, Douglas Police said.

It happened at approximately 6 p.m. in front of St. Luke's Catholic Church, an official said. Krentz and her friend were crossing the street when they were struck.

Sue Krentz was airlifted to University Medical Center in Tucson, police said. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Krentz's friend's name and condition were not immediately available.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop, police said. Ramon Parra Saucedo, 74, was located a short time later.

Saucedo is charged with DUI, 2 counts of Endangerment, and 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, said Carol Capas, a Cochise County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman. He is being held in the Cochise County Jail. Bond is set at $5,000.

Saucedo is a U.S. citizen, Capas said.
That's it?  Bond for hitting a human being with a vehicle while driving drunk is $5000?  Doesn't that mean he can get out by posting $500??

I love the Grand Canyon. I still have the same experience every time I see it as I had the first time. It's so big that it doesn't seem real. From the rim it seems flat, like an enormous painting. I couldn't get it to look three dimensional until I went down inside it a way.

Fox News Gives Oracle, AZ Attention Whores a Microphone

Lying scum attention whore in Oracle,AZ who put up a billbard deliberately misrepresenting what Pinal County Sheriff Babue said, and who used a photograph of an El Salvadoran family without their permission implying they were illegal aliens, and calling for a "dialog" on the topic of illegal immigration succeeds - Fox News put this idiot on the air just now and allowed him to talk OVER Sheriff Babue and LIE about how he just wanted to start a dialog.  Mr. Peirson, are you deaf?  Illegal immigration is the primary topic in Arizona and has been for nearly 6 months since the Governor signed SB 1070.

This arrogant jerk sat there and calmly LIED about everything.  He was not the least bit apologetic about using a photograph (without permission) of a legal immigrant El Salvadoran family nor lying about what Sheriff Babeu said.  He ignored calls to remove the billboard from Sheriff Babue, from the El Salvadoran Consul, and from the family themselves.

He actually had the nerve to pull a Cindy Sheehan and say "will you meet with me Sheriff Babue and talk this out".  Are you kidding me???  Just call the Sheriff's office and ask!  Don't act as if you have been refused a "dialog" when you never even asked!

Students Help Illegal Alien Remain in USA

Ignorant students (probably anti-capitalists since they are not yet productive members of society and haven't yet learned that about half what they will earn isn't really theirs and will go to taxes), practice rules for radicals and work hard to get the deportation of an illegal alien stopped.  ICE complies.

The illegal alien, Alfonso Morales-Macias said "I am not a criminal. I am a husband, a father, a hard worker and a good citizen in every sense of the word except the fact that I do not have a paper to prove it."  He also owns his house anf files income tax returns.  Well, Alfonso, you're wrong; you are indeed a criminal.  You are an illegal alien.  Illegal!

The article (quoted below) says "Morales-Macias' deportation would have required him to leave his wife and two children."  This is a lie!  His wife and children could have traveled with him.  Illegal aliens, legal immigrants, natural born citizens - whatever their status, they are free to travel with their father.  The United States of America does not prevent people from leaving.

His 18-year-old daughter, Ana was upset that her illegal alien father would be deported and not able to see her graduate from Sunnyside High School.  Well, Ana, that would have been his fault.  Actions have consequences Ana and you're old enough to know that breaking the law should result in negative consequences.  His actions are the problem, not the laws and law enforcement of the USA.  Unfortunately, the USA is on the road to becoming nothing more than another banana republic where the government arbitrarily enforces laws against some people and not against others.  Equal protection under the law appears to have died.


Students help stop deportation
UA and Tucson community members saw success in their week-long efforts to defer the deportation of a (this is an exact copy of the subtitle; i bet it said something else and they just edited it poorly to remove the offending word; probably something like "alien" - Kirls)

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Wednesday evening that Alfonso Morales-Macias, a father of two who has lived in Tucson for 20 years, would not be deported to Mexico on Friday as scheduled.

Morales-Macias was granted deferred action and will be able to live in the United States legally for one year with a work visa, according to Mel Rodis, a volunteer who organized press conferences and phone banking on his behalf. He may also be able to renew this visa.

Rodis said the news was exciting to Morale-Macias and his anxious family.

"They all screamed and hugged each other," Rodis said. "It was a beautiful moment."

Morales-Macias was working at Wal-Mart Stores Inc., when the U.S. Border Patrol arrested him during a nighttime raid in September of 2007, according to a press release for a community rally against his deportation.

Morales-Macias was held in detention but posted an immigration bond, according to the press release. The bond allowed him to continue living with his family in Tucson.

"I am not a criminal. I am a husband, a father, a hard worker and a good citizen in every sense of the word except the fact that I do not have a paper to prove it," Morales-Macias wrote in his statement requesting a stay of deportation. He also noted he owns his house and included copies of recent income tax returns in his statement.

Morales-Macias' deportation would have required him to leave his wife and two children.

His daughter, Ana, is an 18-year-old senior at Sunnyside High School. She said she dreams of going to the UA to become a veterinarian.

She said Tuesday afternoon that the scheduled deportation made it difficult to concentrate on schoolwork.

"Well, it's been really hard," Ana Morales-Macias said. "It's been difficult not knowing what's going to happen."

She asked for the help of the community on Wednesday.

"Just to help us so they don't deport my dad," Ana Morales-Macias said. "So that he can be here, and so that he can see me graduate this year."

Now that dream can happen.

Members of the Tucson community organized press conferences and events urging people to call and fax Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. Both parties have the power to stop deportations.

Geography graduate student Sarah Launius helped with publicity and recruiting participants.

"More often than not, people like Alfonso (Morales-Macias) are referred to in terms of numbers. We don't know his name. We don't know he's our neighbor," Launius said. "There's an element of that breaking down of barriers."

Hannah Hafter, a UA alumna, helped the effort by making phone calls on Alfonso Morales-Macias' behalf.

"I've just been calling on the road," Hafter said. "I think it's really important. You're having kids being separated from their parents."

"We're going to be phone banking, calling as many people as we can," said history junior and club member Daniel Curiel on Wednesday afternoon. "I think it's important to get the community together and outreach."

Community members collectively sent over 1,500 faxes and made 600 phone calls on behalf of Alfonso Morales-Macias as of Wednesday afternoon, according to Rodis.

Volunteers welcomed the news of the deferred action.

Vincent Picard, public affairs officer for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said most information concerning the deferred action is private. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement released a statement saying the deferred action "will allow Morales-Macias to remain in the United States while he attempts to normalize his status."

The statement went on to say "A number of factors, including criminal history, immigration history and equities in the United States, are considered when evaluating a request for deferred action."

Hafter said the phone calls and faxes helped the case even though it was not stated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

"They're deporting fathers of families left and right," Hafter said. "What made the difference in this case was really the community support."

Ana Morales-Macias said she is glad her father will continue living in the United States and now has a better chance of attending college.

"We were all happy and excited," Ana Morales-Macias said. "He was excited that he didn't have to go and could stay with us."

She also said she was thankful for the support of the community.

"There were a lot of people we didn't know who helped, from other states and other cities," Ana Morales-Macias said.

Volunteers are happy with the outcome but say a change in immigration policy is still necessary.

Mexicans Smuggling Weapons Into Mexico

Remember Mexico whining and complaining about the southbound flow of weapons? Well, it's Mexicans who are taking the weapons there.


NOGALES, Ariz. - Custom and Border Protection officers in Nogales have seized a sniper rifle and arrested two teenagers trying to cross into Mexico with the weapon.

Customs and Border Protection said Thursday that officers working southbound inspections on Tuesday night referred a car for further perusal. During the inspection, officers found the .50-caliber Armalite bolt-action rifle on top of the vehicle's engine.

The 19-year-old driver and his 17-year-old male passenger, both from Mexico, were arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Officials say the discovery of the dangerous weapon may have saved lives.
And why was it American Customs and Border Patrol policing the southbound flow?  Why don't we let Mexico police what flows into their country? And, if we insist on policing what leaves our country, then why don't we insist that Mexico police what leaves their country? That's right, Mexico, if you want the USA to stop the southbound flow of weapons, then you stop the northbound flow of illegal aliens and drugs.

Dept of Ag and B of Labor Statistics says labor costs represent only 6% of the price consumers pay for fresh fruits and vegetables.  You could double the pay and only see a 6% increase in the prices we pay.  So, double the wages and get AMERICANS harvesting our food!  Get the moochers off welfare and to work!  Tell these freeloading adult children "ya don't work?  ya don't eat!"  Get our teens back working on the farms in the summers.  I know many people who harvested corn in IA to earn money in the summers to pay for their college educations!

Institutionalized Racial Discrimination in Tucson

I was looking up the information for Proposition 107 here in Arizona and found an article which gave me a bit of an eye-opener about the City of Tucson.  I don't know why it should have been so surprising considering that I  was discriminated against at UCLA 25 years ago just for for having a lack of pigmentation.

The part of the article which annoyed me is this
Tucson City Code which provides eligible firms of minorities which have not received their fair share of contracts an "adjustment" allowing them to bid up to 7 percent more on product or service contracts and still win. And there are procedures to give bonus points to certain firms bidding on professional services.
So, I looked it up.  Sure enough, the City of Tucson adjusts contracts from minority owned businesses by 7%. Tucscon City Code says the following:
So, what exactly IS a "Certified MWBE"?  Page 2 describes it as a "local disadvantaged business enterprise, minotiry or women-Owned business that has completed the application process.. and met the requirements...". 

Ok, so what is a disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE)?  Page 3 defines that as a "for-profit small business concern that is at least fifty-one (51) percent Owned by one or more individuals are are both socially and economically disadvantaged..."

What is "Minority"?  Page 5 gives us this answer.
Minority shall mean citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States including any individual in teh following groups, members of which are presumed to be socially and economically disadvantaged...
  1. Black Americans includes persons having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa
  2. Hispanic Americans includes persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Domincan, Central, or South American or other Spanish or Portuguese culture of origin, regardless of race
  3. Native Americans include persons who are American Indians, Eskimos, Aleuts, or Native Hawaiians
  4. Aisan-Pacific Americans includes persons whose origians are from Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Burma (Myanmar), Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia (Kampuchea), Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Phillipines, Brunei, Samoa, Guam, the U.S Trust Territories of the Pacific Islands (Republic of Palau), the Commonweath of Northern Marianas Islands, Macao, Figi, Tonga, Kiribati, Juvala, Naura, Federated States of Micronesia, Hong Kong,

 Residents of Tucson, I have to ask you, are you insane?  Japan?  Hong Kong?  China?
 
There is only one path out of this morass of racial discrimination and racism and that is to eliminate any and all preferences, set asides, "affirmative action", etc and judge people only by the content of their character, judge contracts only by the contracts themselves and the reputations of those submitting the contracts.

Tucon City Council Members and the Mayor should be ashamed of themselves.  They and all other government officials and bureaucrats are entrusted with public monies and should be good stewards.  Instead, they have taken that money and used it to disciminate in favor of certain groups based exclusively on "race".

SEIU Voter Fraud - Exposed by Ordinary Citizens

My friend Holger said this Spring (right about the time ObamaCare passed) that it seemed as if the Democrats were acting as if they would never have to face the voters again.  I agreed.  In fact, I've thought for a very long time that voter fraud was occurring in numbers far too large to even imagine.  Mail in ballots are key to this.  I always vote in person and do not intend to change that.  I know some areas have made it law that all voting is by mail.  This is wrong!  Never, ever support that!  They register dozens, hundreds, even thousands of fake names and never have to prove that they exist.  Here in AZ, if you vote in person, you have to show ID.  But, if you vote by mail, no ID and your ballot is not secret.  Do people not see the danger in that?  Clearly not because so many people I know continue to vote by mail.

This story below reinforces my opinions.


When Catherine Engelbrecht and her friends sat down and started talking politics several years ago, they soon agreed that talking wasn’t enough. They wanted to do more. So when the 2008 election came around, “about 50” of her friends volunteered to work at Houston’s polling places.

“What we saw shocked us,” she said. “There was no one checking IDs, judges would vote for people that asked for help. It was fraud, and we watched like deer in the headlights.”

Their shared experience, she says, created “True the Vote,” a citizen-based grassroots organization that began collecting publicly available voting data to prove that what they saw in their day at the polls was, indeed, happening -- and that it was happening everywhere.

“It was a true Tea Party moment,” she remembers.

Like most voter watchdog groups, she said, her group started small. They decided to investigate voting fraud in general, not just at the polling places, and at first they weren't even sure what to look for -- and where to look for it.

“The first thing we started to do was look at houses with more than six voters in them" Engelbrecht said, because those houses were the most likely to have fraudulent registrations attached to them. "Most voting districts had 1,800 if they were Republican and 2,400 of these houses if they were Democratic . . .

"But we came across one with 24,000, and that was where we started looking."

It was Houston's poorest and predominantly black district, which has led some to accuse the group of targeting poor black areas. But Engelbrecht rejects that, saying, "It had nothing to do with politics. It was just the numbers.”

The task was overwhelming. With 1.9 million voters and 886 voting precincts, Houston’s Harris County is the second largest county in the country -- and the key to Texas elections.

The group called for help and quickly got 30 donated computers and “tens of thousands of hours” of volunteer work. And then the questions started to arise.

“Vacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address,” Engelbrecht said. “We then decided to look at who was registering the voters."

Their work paid off. Two weeks ago the Harris County voter registrar took their work and the findings of his own investigation and handed them over to both the Texas secretary of state’s office and the Harris County district attorney.

Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Steve Caddle, who also works for the Service Employees International Union. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid. The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures.

Caddle told local newspapers that there “had been mistakes made,” and he said he had fired 30 workers for filing defective voter registration applications. He could not be reached for this article.

“The integrity of the voting rolls in Harris County, Texas, appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes,” the Harris voter registrar, Leo Vasquez, charged as he passed on the documentation to the district attorney. A spokesman for the DA's office declined to discuss the case. And a spokesman for Vasquez said that the DA has asked them to refrain from commenting on the case.

The outcome of the efforts grew in importance the day after Vasquez made his announcement. On the morning of Aug. 27, a three-alarm fire destroyed almost all of Harris County’s voting machines, throwing the upcoming Nov. 2 election into turmoil. While the cause wasn’t determined, the $40 million blaze, according to press reports, means election officials will be focused on creating a whole new voting system in six weeks. Just how they do it will determine how vulnerable the process becomes.

Did you know that El Salvadore was the only Latin American country to send troops to fight alongside US and Coalition troops after 911?

Oregon Takes First Amendment Rights Away

This is insane.  These 2 fellows from the "African American Alliance" should be charged with civil rights violations... oh, wait, i forgot that the United States Department of Justice refuses to go after anyone with a certain amount of pigmentation.

And listen to that first fool say that the guy has no First Amendment Rights on private property.  It was a church for crying out loud.  Some of you may remember that I filmed a number of townhalls last year and at least one of them was in a church and NO ONE said anything to me about filming least of all the church officials!

Rockingham County, North Carolina Sheriff Sam Page used vacation time to come to Arizona and spend time with those trying to keep us secure from invasion.  He saw what was happening first hand.  God bless you Sheriff Sam Page!

Rockingham Co. Sheriff shares experiences from U.S border

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. - A Triad sheriff is sharing his experiences after spending six days patrolling near the U.S.-Mexico border. Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page says he took the trip to learn more about both human and drug trafficking. Page says what happens there has a direct impact on what happens in North Carolina.

Page has been leading the war on drugs in Rockingham County for many years. "But I wanted to go to actually see where the drug trafficking begins in the United States. Over 50 percent of our drugs-- cocaine, methamphetamine, or marijuana-- come right over the U.S.-Mexican border," he said.

That's why he used vacation time to go to Arizona. He rode along with deputies there, videotaping his experiences. He says the experience was eye-opening. "People coming across could be drug traffickers, human traffickers, or terrorist, we don't know who's coming across our borders," said Page.

Evidence of the people and drugs coming into our country was everywhere. From abandoned clothing to water jugs and bags used to carry drugs, he didn't have to work hard to find the evidence in this particular case. “What's interesting is that we saw some of the containers they use,” Page said. "Some of the packaging they use is some of the same stuff we see back here in North Carolina."

He says they even went as far as to use bags the U.S. gave to Mexico for aid and recycled them to bring drugs back into our country. Page points out, all of those experiences have a direct effect on North Carolina.

"Once drugs come across our border, Rockingham County is about 32 hours away driving time, but it doesn't take long to get those same drugs that crossed our borders coming right here to North Carolina,” he said.

Page says now that he's seen first hand what's going on, he plans to use the video he shot and let others know. “This is affecting us in North Carolina, this is affecting us in the United States,” Page said. “This is something we all need to take issue with. Homeland Security begins at home as far as I am concerned.”

Page says he thinks this is not a political issue, but a safety one and hopes others will agree.

Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever Fights Back Against NYT

On September 4, 2010, the NYTimes Editorial board said "These Arizonans are selling a vision of border chaos and violence disconnected from reality."

I'm sorry, "These Arizonans"??  Can you imagine the reaction of the NYTimes editorial staff if someone used that phrase to describe the people illegally streaming across the border?  "These Mexicans" or "These criminals".

Fine NYTimes editors.  Drag your citified skinny butts down here to the border and take up residence in a ranch or farm along the border and you deal with these illegals at your door every night.  Just sit tight and wait for the authorities.  No guns for you.

Along the Southern Border, the New York Times is 'Disconnected from Reality'
For the last 14 years as the elected Sheriff of Cochise County Arizona, which shares 83½ miles of border with Mexico, I have kept a listed phone number. For about the last 18 years or so the calls I receive at home, at night, would be infrequent and usually about a domestic squabble or some animal turned loose.
Then, in 1998 that all changed. Now I don’t sleep, as my residents call each night sometimes panicky, sometimes resigned to this as a way of life, but always with a shaky voice: “they are at my door.” This is not a weekend activity. This is every single night. Cochise County is a gateway to tens of thousands of illegal aliens entering the U.S. to provide the rest of our country with drugs. If my deputies and I are prohibited from enforcing the law to stop these border jumpers, your families in Plainsville, Ohio, or Charlotte, North Carolina, are going to continue to be in harm’s way and see the percentage of crimes by illegal aliens rise.

The New York Times September 4th editorial entitled “Border News” claims we in southern Arizona are “disconnected from reality” over the issue of border violence.
As we patrol the border and watch the traffic night after night – and believe me, you cannot turn off what appears sometimes to be a bad movie with an endless reel of crossers — I would respectfully suggest the editorial writer is disconnected from reality.
And lest you think we are mainly apprehending a workforce eager to come work illegally for our residents, it’s not about people anymore, it’s about drug smugglers and other criminal aliens. My deputies and I keep watch on the border each night, doing our best to apprehend the dozens of men with 75-pound backpacks filled with marijuana who hop the fence, usually when the Federal Border Patrol Agents have their official shift changes. Sadly, Border Patrol agents working this problem are more often than not limited in their capacity to cope by inept policy making in Washington, D.C. Our government is supposed to be making tactical decisions about a situation that worsens by the day and is truly chaotic and frankly, war-like.
The editorial cites the Pew Research Center study as evidence that the illegal population has declined. Pew even admits their numbers are not precise, that their population totals “differ somewhat from the ones the government uses.” In fact, Pew admits to adjusting the unauthorized immigrant population upwards by 10-15%, saying, “Our method of analysis does not permit a precise estimation of how many in this population emigrate, achieve legal status or die.” I would challenge these wizards of statistical manipulation to conduct a study of the total number of crimes committed by illegal aliens nationwide and then justify their open borders position.

When you are thousands of miles away from the problem, it’s easy to imagine this part of the country as a land of easygoing westerners with a carefree lifestyle. That may be the ideal, but the reality is my residents sleep lightly in anticipation of the knocking they will inevitably hear on their front doors and the constant fear of what will result if they are forced to answer.

Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever Joins Appeal of Injunction against AZ SB 1070

9th Circuit Court Grants ‘Friend of the Court’ Status to Fight Injunction of SB 1070

Phoenix, AZ – The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals this week granted permission to Sheriff Larry Dever of Cochise County to join the appeal of the injunction of Arizona immigration SB 1070, barring certain parts of the law from being enforced. Sheriff Dever has seen the threat of illegal immigration firsthand but has been largely shut out of the debate in court.

“Arizona’s citizens need every uniformed officer in the State of Arizona enforcing Federal Immigration laws,” said Dever. “SB 1070 was put in place to give Arizonans the assurance that every officer across the State is doing everything they can to stop the flow of drugs and violence. We look forward to participate in the hearings and welcome the day when we can use all the tools necessary to secure our borders.”

On September 2, Sheriff Dever, honorary chairman of www.bordersheriffs.com which helps Arizona sheriffs fight lawsuits by the ACLU and the Justice Department against Arizona, filed an Amicus Curiae brief requesting permission to participate in the appeal of the District Court’s preliminary injunction preventing the inaction and enforcement of SB 1070. On Monday, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals reviewed and granted the motion and determined that Sheriff Dever's perspective on this dispute is valuable and will consider his arguments seeking to vacate the preliminary injunction.

In light of this development, Sheriff Dever will request that his counsel be allowed to participate in the oral argument proceedings, which are scheduled to be conducted November 1 in San Francisco.

The brief challenges Judge Susan Bolton’s ruling striking down key portions of SB 1070. Section 2(b) of SB 1070 requires that law enforcement, with reasonable suspicion that someone is in the country unlawfully, check immigration status but does not require that law enforcement check immigration status of every arrestee. Despite that language, the Federal District Court prevented SB 1070 from going into effect in part by incorrectly reading the statute to require that every single detention by a uniformed officer would require an immigration status check.

You read that right.  Senator John McCain accuses someone else of changing their position on immigration.

Idiots in Oracle, AZ Deliberately Misrepresent Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu

Why do leftwing loonatics always want to "inspire a conversation" and "open a dialogue"?  What is it about them that they want to "dialogue"?  I'm sick of these people!  They are all talk and no substance.  They put out some blatant biased and wrong statement about someone they disagree with and then say they were just trying to "inspire a conversation" and express disappointment that the object of their attack didn't call them.  That just proves they are liars since an attack is not espoused by anyone as the best way to start a conversation.

They know very well what Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu meant that open borders with unrestricted access to drug dealers, human smugglers, and jihadis from all over the world is the "most serious public safety issue and a national security threat to American".

UFCW Sees The Light? Or Afraid They're Wrong?

Did UFCW see the light?  No, I don't think so.  Rather, I think they might have realized that they are on the losing side of this debate with polls showing between 70% and 80% of Americans in support of AZ SB1070 and many states looking at implementing their own version.

We'll see what happens when the court hears the case just before the election.


Union Calls for All Parties to Tone It Down and Work for Real Comprehensive Immigration Reform
PHOENIX, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The UFCW International union announced that the union is ending its boycott of Arizona, citing the recent court decision staying the most problematic provisions of 1070.

The UFCW called on all parties to "tone it down so that a public policy issue as significant as immigration reform can be debated with mutual respect, not trivialized as just another political campaign tactic."

The union's boycott started when Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed SB 1070 into law. "I hope Ms. Brewer joins the call to 'tone it down' and help create solutions for both border security and immigration reform," said UFCW Local 99 (Arizona) President Jim McLaughlin.

"It is now time for calm, reasoned discussion that can move forward to first secure our borders, while designing a workable, humane plan to finally reform our nation's immigration laws," said McLaughlin.

Wall Going Up on Southern Border - of Mexico!


The Inter-Press Sevice (IPS) is reporting that the head administrator of the Mexican Superintendency of Tax Administration, Raul Diaz, has confirmed that his government is building a wall in the state of Chiapas, along the Mexican/Guatemalan border.

The official reason is to stop contraband from coming into Mexico, but as Diaz admitted: “It could also prevent the free passage of illegal immigrants.”

According to Mexico's National Commission on Human Rights, 500,000 people from Central America cross into Mexico illegally every year.

Just as Mexican authorities have opposed the construction of a fence by the U.S., along our border with their country, Mexico is now receiving a great deal of criticism from the Guatemalan government.

The executive coordinator of the National Bureau for Migration in Guatemala, Marila de Prince, told a local newspaper: “It is not a correct measure being taken by the Mexican government.”

Erick Maldonado, executive secretary of Guatemala's National Council on Migrants said: “We are watching the Mexican government's initiative with concern because the migrants are in a situation of highest vulnerability, as demonstrated by the massacre in Tamaulipas, where five Guatemalans died.”

Maldonado said the wall “is going to make the migrants' situation worse, because to meet their needs they are always going to find blind points where there are no migration or security controls, which implies greater risks."

Vice-President of Guatemala, Rafael Espada, said: “The walls are not the solution to the problems.”

The Catholic Church has been highly critical of U.S. treatment of illegal aliens, and one priest in Central America used the news of the Mexican wall to take another shot at the American people.

Father Francisco Pellizari, of the Casa del Migrante told IPS: “The dramatic increase in the cost of 'polleros' (human traffickers) and the corruption of the authorities is the result of the walls the United States plans to build and has built along the border. We can transpose the Guatemala case to this situation and the results will be the same.”

Peliizari said border walls “are supposedly intended to halt migration, but that hasn't happened. Instead they have triggered an economic hemorrhage and a shift in the migratory flow to inhospitable routes that lead to thousands of deaths.”

Of course, the U.S. press has completely ignored the story…They excoriate Americans for their desire to simply defend their own borders, but give Mexico a pass for building a wall to keep out illegal aliens.

More Backdoor Amnesty From Harry Reid

UPDATE!  It failed in the Senate!  Needed 60 votes but got 56!  Even 56 is bad enough but at least it failed!

Harry Reid is one of the most despicable human beings in this country.  Why Nevadans keep sending this freak back to the Senate is beyond understanding.


This week the U.S. Senate is scheduled to take up the FY 2011 National Defense Authorization Act. This legislation is necessary to fund the defense of the United States and its interests abroad. The House already passed their bill in May. But Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) would rather talk about amnesty.

Why is Reid doing this? One only need look at the RealClearPolitics aggregate polling data: he is in a dead-heat reelection battle with State Rep. Sharon Angle (R). That is why Reid bypassed usual Senate procedure and included “the DREAM Act” in the defense bill. The DREAM Act creates a “path to citizenship” for illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. before the age of 16, have lived here for 5 years, and either serve in the military or attend college. But the bill also prohibits the government from deporting anyone who has even filed an application for the program. This essentially gives amnesty to anyone who applies regardless of whether they actually qualify for the act’s protections. Worse, the program would also allow applicants (get that?  applicants whether they qualify or not! - Kirls) to sponsor their immediate family members for a green card. While current law prohibits sponsorship of illegal immigrants living in the United States, this leaves open the possibility that they could fraudulently, through falsified documents or other means, sponsor their parents who are in the U.S. illegally – creating an even larger amnesty.

By itself the DREAM Act is terrible public policy. It would reward illegal aliens for violating federal immigration laws. It would encourage more illegal immigration by sending the message that the United States does not take its immigration laws seriously. And in an additional slap in the face to law-abiding Americans, it offers in-state college tuition to illegal immigrants, while legal students in the rest of the country would have to pay out-of-state tuition rates. But forcing this measure into the defense authorization bill is just shameful.

Obama Removes "Creator" from Declaration of Independence

I guess this is what Michelle Obama meant when she we "are gonna have to change our history".  No thanks, Michelle, I greatly prefer to know the truth.

The American Thinker is ever alert and endures the bizarre facial expressions and sound of the Presidents speeches even those at racist organizations like the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (there is also a black causus but no white causus and, iirc, no asian caucus and no european caucus either).  During this speech in which Obama praises every commie leftest in the country, he quotes the preamble of the Declaration of Independence, sort of:
We hold these truths to be self eveident, that all men are created equal (long pause) endowed with certain unalienable rights, life, and liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness

Harry Reid Tries to Cram DREAM Act Down Our Throats

Harry Reid is a despicable man.  I hope Nevadens retire him!

Harry Reid said he will add the DREAM Act to a defese policy bill next week.

Washington (CNN) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday he will add the DREAM Act, a controversial immigration measure, to a defense policy bill the Senate will take up next week.

The decision means the defense bill, which often passes with bipartisan support, will be home to two major, thorny political issues – the other being the repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Reid called the DREAM Act "really important" and said it should be passed because it provides a path to citizenship for young illegal immigrants who go to college or serve in the military. DREAM is an acronym for Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act.

"I know we can't do comprehensive immigration reform," Reid said at a news conference. "But those Republicans we had in the last Congress have left us."

Many Hispanic voters are angry with Democratic leaders for not doing more to pass an immigration overhaul. The decision by Reid to add the DREAM Act now could help soothe that anger.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell called Reid's ecision "needlessly controversial."

The Senate will need 60 votes to take up the bill next week, and Reid said Tuesday he doesn't know if he has enough votes.
